It would take almost 2 years of subscription fees to end up costing as much as a $400 treadmill and I guarantee you treadmills at planet fitness are much better quality than any piece of shit treadmill you can buy for $400. My elliptical was like $3k new and I got it for $500 on craigslist. The gym will be more expensive in the long run, but a gym will grant you access to weight lifting, plus the fact that you don't have to keep bulky athletic equipment in your house, which takes up a good chunk of space. I highly recommend it if you can afford the extra cost. Not a,money thing. It's a time thing. My work schedule is erratic. If one week my only time off is peak,hours at the gym I'm screwed.
