Is Kayley Hot?

20 y/o Kayley Olsson from Iowa REFUSED to Shave a 16 y/o Depressed Girl's hair and instead spent 13 HOURS fixing it!!

The student barber from Waterloo shared the story on her FB that touched the hearts of millions as she explained the teen girl had been dealing with depression for years and felt so worthless that she didn't brush her hair...so she asked Kayley to SHAVE it all off..

But Kayley couldn't find it in herself to razor blade her bushy hair so she spent more than half a day to fix it!!

Kayley attends cosmetology school and already has 160,000 likes and 67,000 shares on hr FB as she said it was the most challening experience of her life but chose to keep the girl anonymous.

She said "It got to the point where she felt so down and so worthless she couldn't even brush her hair, so she told me she only got up to use the restroom. She starts back at school in a few weeks but she has her school pictures today. When she walke din she told us, just cut it all off i can't deal with the pain of combing it out. it honestly broke my heart and we tried everything we could to keep this child's hair for her! At the end of the day i want this to be a lesson to people. MENTAL HEALTH is a thing, it effects people all around the world and of all ages! PARENTS take it serious, don't just push your kids off and tell them to get over something they legitmately can't. A CHILD should NEVER feel so worthless to not even want to brush their hair. Her last words to me was i will actually smile for my school pictures toay, you made me feel like me again"

Social media were quick to call Kayley an "Angel" and said what she did was beautiful and hopes there are more people like her in the world

Same. I remember a couple of moments like this for me when I was really struggling with severe depression. That simple line "I will actually smile for my school pictures" legitimately made me tear up a bit because I know that feeling. It's not just as simple as "hey, my picture won't look like shit after all, that's nice." It's the fact that finally something important to you actually went right, and someone cared enough to go the extra mile to help you out instead of just ignoring you and moving on like it's so easy to do.

Good on the hairdresser for stepping up and not taking the easy road. And I hope the girl can take the experience and use it as motivation to keep fighting.

How does a parent even let their child get to that point without stepping in to help?

1. Not all parents are good parents.
2. Even good parents can be taken in by excuses or simply be too busy to have noticed. Depressed people are extremely good at hiding things from people they don't want to know. Maybe she wore hats all the time so her parents never saw her hair. Or she'd make excuses or plan her day around avoiding them altogether. That's mostly what I did when I was depressed.

One of the things that can make a girl REALLY spike in attractiveness is seeing them do something compassionate - this girl really did that :)

Prevented her from having the 'Die-Cis-Scum' feminist hair-do? She's a hero in my book.
