It's always played a variety of genres but it's always been a metal and punk venue first and foremost, well all that's changing as even they have decided to tell locals to go fuck themselves and are chasing that sweet yuppie transplant money

It's desperately trying to scrub the reputation it has as a metal and punk venue because the area it's in has become a gentrification hotspot and has become infested with non locals and now has a reputation as a cool and trendy area and they want a piece of that pie even if it means alienating the people who were loyal to that location and put it on the fucking map

There are still going to be some shows I'll enjoy but according to my friend who manages the bar there, he says from now on they're going to be few and far between because seeing a crowd of metalheads and punks keeps yuppies our their bar and even though we've been more than generous with how much we pack that bar tight and spend endless amounts of liquor it's not enough apparently .

Goddamnit CE, my city doesn't belong to us locals anymore, it's now in the hands of lowly subhuman transplants and I literally want to fucking die

No never, my city is going to shit because we let outsiders with no respect for our culture and way of life take over and have their way. By keeping out all non locals this could have been prevented, I've been going to that place for 8 years and now it's changing to pander to outsiders who have no place here

I never lived in NO, but I was in Baton Rouge, so I used to go all the time (spend 23-24 years there). I completely agree that they just cast the population aside to turn the city into a tourist trap. These tourists think, for some reason, that no rules exist and that you can fight, litter, drive drunk, etc.

The city and state just keep electing the worst possible people. There's no order -- people are vandalizing art, but the solution is to pander to out-of-towners? Screw that. My family and I moved when my dad retired.

Good don't comeback we don't want you here, Treme did more damage to this city than Katrina ever could by opening the floodgates for any yuppie with money to just come and displace locals as much as they want while having a tone deaf understanding of the city and trying to change it to conform to their non local ways

The damage from Katrina was physical and we were still New Orleans after, then Treme aired and outsiders started flooding in amd changing the city overall for the worse
