I'm not the best chef but I can make most things if I have the recipe and method to work off of

Not too hard to improvise off of already established recipes

I get a lot of compliments whenever I make braised short ribs. But it's so expensive to make I rarely do it.

Yes, although getting a 'grab and go' meal from the grocery or fast food/take out is easier.

My 'best' dish I make is pasta bake. I take pasta, marinara sauce (sometimes I'll use Alfredo to change it up), some type of meat (meatballs, chicken etc.), a veggie or two (something like bell peppers, onions, mushrooms etc.), and put it all in a tray with some cheese on top and bake it for 30 minutes or so. It's pretty good, and can last me 3 days easily in leftovers.

Probably the best thing I can make is pulled pork or beef brisket on the smoker.

I can also make chocolate souffle. Though they're actually pretty straightforward that would probably be the most impressive.

My favourite dishes to make are:
- chili
- spaghetti
- pork loin
- mushroom soup pork chops
- chicken/beef stir fry

Nothing extravagant, but when I feel like spending some time on a dish, those are my go-tos.

the thing I make that gets the most compliments is chicken tikka masala or my chicken parm
my fiancée goes crazy for this pork chop with orange glaze and caramelized onions that I do every now and then


guilty pleasure is meatballs with grape jelly + bbq sauce, and a shitton of rice. that's hardly cooking though, even when I make the meatballs from scratch

Best dish is probably my baked mussels. Straight up google recipe, but no restaurant i've ever been to has been able to top it.

2nd is probably my corned beef.

They're both such simple dishes, but delicious as hell.

I usually take the premade stuff at the butcher and make my own dish. Like the kabobs, i cook it then use sweet n sour sauce for a rich taste. I use a variety of sauces. I usually keep the peanut sauce and sweet n sour sauce though. I try to find new sauces like buffalo wildwings mango habanero sauces. I try to buy that for the grilled chicken hehe

I like to bacon wrap asparagus, garlic fry green beans, elotes, quesadillas. For burritos i use the carne asada marinated beef then warm a tortilla and just eat like that with a little chopped tomatoes cilantro and green onions. I use the sriracha/mayo sauce like a dip for it.

I dont know how to make specialty dishes.
Like curry... an old coworker showed me how to make thai curry but i forgot. I didnt practice making it as often as i shouldve but remember it being good. Might have to look up recipes.

Im good with following recipes but i like making my own food. It might take a couple tries before i find the right taste.

But I bought an Anova sous vide cooker and a really nice grill about 2 months ago and now I really enjoy cooking nice meals every day. It's a lot of fun.

I actually got one of those recently as well. I like using it for ribeyes and then finishing them off in a cast iron skillet.
