A Florida Firefighter has been fired and 3 others have resigned after they left a NOOSE on a black firefighter's desk left hanging over his chair as he was the ONLY black recruit..and it happened on the LAST day of training as well!!

Pompano Beach Chief John Jurgle said he fired Matthew Reilly and accepted the resignations of Kerop Berberian, Geandy Perez and Austin Sovay who all planned the supposed "joke"

On June 7th, Vilbert Green was the only black recruit out of the class of 6 and left the room to clean up and when he returned, he found the noose dangling on his desk over his chair and a table next to a paper nametag with his name on it...he took the picture as evidence

Jurgle said "He was not happy with what was done, but after taking the picture, he decided he didn't want anything to do with it"

He showed the picture to another firefighter outside the class..and it's where Reilly, Berberian, Perez and Sovay said it was a "joke" but Jurgle refused to "tolerate this kind of thing"

Green was offended and tried to address it with the recruits and the men initially denied doing so Green took it to the captain in charge of training who then lead an investigation

The chief found that Perez tied the knot and one of the men threw it over his chair with his name tag on it.

He said that the fact that none of them owned up to the truth was troubling.

Jurgle found that the 4 men were a "tight-knit" group and didn't intend to offend anyone and said that they were "joking" as he asked them how it was a joke.

Austin said "it wasn't a nooose. it was a fishing knot" and Kerop Berberian said "people were let go for the wrong reasons"

But Jurgle didn't want his dept associated with this kind of behaviour as that is not their culture.

These 4 men would have been full fledged firefighters next year had they not did what they did
