And I liked the fact that he had ties to a piece of Wayne's past. Maybe he has a grudge against Bats because his father is the reason he disappeared. Could've made the series about Bruce coming to terms with his parent's past and what it means for his role as Batman. That's definitely the button the Riddler was pressing.
