Imagine having a job that gladly lets you have an entire week off

I think +90% of full time workers get access to paid vacation(per the bls). If your employer doesn't, might be time to look for another job

My job gives two weeks off in the first year, and three weeks off after the first year.

Where do you work, Bowser?

I got five weeks off at my last job but the stress and workload wasn't worth it. I was in the office for about 3000 hours my first year.

I just applied for a government job with the city. I'm sure it won't be as much PTO, but they work guaranteed 38-hour weeks over four days with Fridays off. And honestly, if you plan it efficiently, a 3-day weekend is enough for some domestic travel.

I'd say I work about 3,000 stress filled hours a year. Way, way more if you count commuting.

I got 2 weeks for vacation for my first two years, 3 weeks for year three and four, and five weeks for year five and on.

EDIT: I get a three day weekend every other week though (5 on 2 off, 5 on 3 off) so it's not too bad. Obviously this means my days off change every two weeks. When you're off weekends in the summer you're pretty much screwed with forced OT though. Like I just finished my 5th shift (I work 11pm to 8am) and I'm supposed to be off tonight, Saturday night, and Sunday night. Instead I'm working Saturday afternoon and Monday morning, and still have to be in for my regular shift Monday night. Gonna make a ton of money though!

48; no Alaska or Hawaii for me.

Dude nice! Did you knock most out with big road trips?

Yeah, my family went on multi-week road trips every summer when I grew up. I hit 47 states that way, then I got 48 when I chose my college.

When I worked as a chef I did not get any kind of paid vacation. :( Lack of decent benefits and whatnot is what inspired me to look for a new job (which is why I'm in college now).

Right now I'm working as a caretaker for my mother so that my father can actually focus on his much-better-paying-job.

What I was working at before this was at Walmart where one of my coworkers (who had been there much longer than I was) couldn't even get time off for college exams, because Walmart refused to give him those days off.
