Was it always like this and at 26 years old I am just now really noticing?

Or have current events helped to create a divide?

I live in Atlanta, GA a cesspool of ignorance and stereotypes. I have noticed that black people AND white people are becoming more segregated in their attitudes. Not everyone but it is definitely more noticeable.

I was playing Poker with some guys (Who were white) and one of them who had been giving me weird looks all night suddenly decides to tell me he supports "Separate but Equal Segregation" and believes that all races should only be "With Each Other" also they were all Trump supporters (I think that does matter)

My Facebook feed is littered with racism from my fellow African-Americans who consider everything to be racist its just so annoying.

I just feel like people let the media get them sooooooooooo riled up they don't realize that Fox/CNN/etc. make MONEY off of getting people fired up over issues.

Yes, I think it has been. It's just that it evolves over time. We also have more ways to communicate our hatred of each other in today's world. So it probably gives the appearance that we are some how more racist and hateful.

What I'm saying is it isn't just White people who are racist I've seen an increase in racist attitudes from Whites and Blacks and its scary because everyone's pointing fingers instead of trying to understand. The problem in the US is perception thanks to all of the media they shift perception and further divide the people instead of unite them.

It's always been super racist. The country is literally founded off of racism and has never changed that or let it go. It seems more now because social media and people being forced to be less sheltered. Also people have toned down what racism means so it applies to things like prejudice that wouldn't normally be racism.

Like classifying people or identifying them by race isn't real racism. Neither is drawing conclusions/stereotypes due to race. Real racism is hating someone for no other reason than their race. It's an illogical hatred/dislike that is literally only explained by color of skin.

People have no filter when putting messages or videos up on websites. There are certain things that should be said, and there are tons of things that should be held back.

Its like people don't take pride in the message they are putting out there or trying to convey to their audience, but its always about putting a message out there even if its not a good one because I have to get my point across and My Opinion > Your Opinion or I want to get those views to make lots of money so I will be controversial about a touchy subject and troll you for as long as the wheels stay on this vehicle.

It happens in all ways, white on blacks, blacks on whites, whites on asian, blacks on asian, asian on white, asian on black, etc.

Anyone who immediately brings politics into it is showing their true agenda, they don't really care about race relations, just furthering the agenda. I feel odd about racism as a somewhat visible minority myself I've experienced racism, and i've had racist thoughts myself (stereotyping). I don't see an end to it, and I actually think as a planet we're going to rapidly head back to being tribes.

America is less racist now than it has ever been. However, there are a lot of groups that need racism for a paycheck. If racism is ever "fixed" then these groups won't exist.
