maybe it's because I went in expecting it to be really bad from everything I'd heard, but I ended up having a pretty good time and look back on it fondly. I've been getting an itch to reread lately, anyone read the tenth anniversary edition? is it worth shellin' out for or should i stick with my lil trusty old paperback

I enjoyed the shit out of it, not sure where all the complaints come from.

It wasn't as good as anything Mistborn, but I'd rate it above Warbreaker.

The anniversary edition only adds one thing of any substance and it's a epilogue with Hoid doing some interesting stuff, especially considering how it ties in a bit with Mistborn. Still nothing terribly exciting beyond those like extra two pages.

Reading for the first time through the tenth anniversary edition right now. Im only about 8 chapters in, but so far its decent but I preferred the mistborn trilogy and warbreaker more

It's a good enter point for Sanderson, but with a few of his books under your belt it feels not as good as the others.

I just finished the part when Sarene meets with the resistance at her uncles house. Its starting to get more intriguing, but I still prefer warbreaker and mistborn. I dont know what it is but I was really into those books from the very beginning, while elantris has yet to really grab me in the same way.

It's a good book. But it's his first book and isn't as good as pretty much everything else he's written since.

Just got to the part where Sarene is entering Elantris with a cart full of food. Im enjoying the format of rotating the chapters between the 3 different characters. Over halfway through the book and it still feels like its just starting to ramp up, but Im enjoying it. Definitely not as good as warbreaker or mistborn trilogy but if you like Sanderson its an easy recommendation
