Completely up to you.

Is there a specific aspect of history you want to specialize in? War, economics, government, customs, you get the idea.

If so I'd probably start at the origin of that aspect. If not, I'd either choose a specific culture/country and start at the beginning or choose a time period and fill that in to your liking before moving on to a new one.

For reference I choose to start with feudalism. From there I pretty much jumped all over the place. I think I went Renaissance era and then went into events like war of the roses and the fall of Rome, which interested me enough to just go through all of Rome again. So on and so forth.

FFX is the best game of all time. The only good Nintendo franchises are Pokemon and Fire Emblem. Comics are for kids. https://i.imgur.com/LJ3WSyB.gif

As much as academics will criticize it, Wikipedia is a great place to figure out what topics or time frames or areas may interest you in history. From there, take out books or look for sources online to learn more and form an opinion on an event, place, people, etc.

Ya I'd decide if you wanna structure it or jump around then.

Structure would be good because you stick to a period or event until you have it down and it often makes things easy because you can link connections in your brain making them easier to refer back to.

I personally just chose a random subject each day and dive in. If I don't finish I'll continue the next day and if I do I'll probably start something completely unrelated.

I blame tvtropes...

You could start anywhere. You could start at the beginning of recorded history and work your way forward (which would be incredibly daunting and hard to keep track of, and probably boring) or you could find a topic or event in history you're interested in and branch out from there. Research things related to the things you're already interested in. Just be warned that it's a rabbit hole that you'll never find the bottom of even if you devoted your entire life it researching it.
