The theme that came with it is pretty awesome. I can't wait to play it when I get home. I don't hear many people talking about it.

Jim Sterling pulled his review because he gave it a one out of ten in a pique of frustration because he ran into a game breaking glitch. Basically, the game auto-saves behind you as you go. He missed lighting a torch that allowed him to progress further, and the game autosaved behind him, basically prohibiting him from progressing further. It was disappointing because he was actually really liking the game, and would have given it at seven or eight out of 10, but he couldn't give it that good of a score when he ran into a game breaking problem. Still, the rest of the game sounds pretty good.

For anyone wondering, he gave it a 1/10 as a final score despite not finishing the game.

What a joke reviewer.

People gave MGSV a 10/10 despite not sticking around long enough for it it get bad, go figure.

That being said, that glitch does sound pretty damn bad and enraging.

Whilst true, this is a 7/8 hour game. It's also important to note that Jim is the only review to encounter this glitch. No-one else got it.

I'm sure they will patch that glitch out. Too bad they missed it though.
Jim's reviews are hit and miss. He is super bias and emotional.
I've heard the game isn't that long. How much progress could have been lost?

Fair enough.

I take the fact that he pulled it from his reviews as a sign that maybe he's gonna try it again once it's patched? Would've been worse if he left it up there.

Probably. He pulled it, because the review made him look like a joke. In fact most people talking about the reviews for this game are only talking about his review, and pointing out that he's the only one to experience such a glitch.

Like with any reviewer, you'll find ones that resonate with you and ones that don't. I don't read Sterling reviews because they are so long winded, and his reviews have never jived with me. Basically, find a few reviewers that like to play the same games as you do and read their stuff if you want.

when the game literally breaks in a way that prevents you from finishing, what other score is justified? a game-breaking bug like that, and one so obvious, should never have made past basic testing.

A temporary score, instead of a final score? He doesn't even need the clicks or attention as his site and Youtube stuff doesn't collect advertising revenue. As I've also said, he's the only reviewer that had this glitch.

IGN also did something similar with Prey, because they had a bug that no-one else had.

I just found out that the save game wiping is bullshit itself. It doesn't really have such a feature.

I was wondering if it was partially his fault and that is likely why he pulled the original review.

As for the permadeath. I heard about it. It sounds fine to me. Like having lives in a video game again.

When a developer makes it a mechanic and part of the story I think that is cool.

I don't understand why people are bitching at him about the 1/10. A reviewer can only review their experience with the game. If their experience contains a game breaking glitch, then all bets are off as far as what score it should receive. He decided to pull it and give the game another chance, and there's nothing wrong with doing that, but he most certainly didn't need to.

Besides, if people only noticed this glitch after the reviews are out, I'm sure they'd be pissed not even one reviewer mentioned it.

Most glitches like this are only noticed by a few at first, probably why they didn't get ironed out with testing.
