The very first episode was awesome, but I can't put my finger as to why the new 2 are just alright IMO

They're not particularly funny. They're too focused on how the family has fallen apart. Particularly in the last episode its head just seems too far up its own ass

I can count on one hand the amount of times I've laughed so far.

"There's pictures of people eating poo in here" got a good laugh out of me though.

Ya, the little jokes about people eating poop and the motivational poster were hilarious, but other than that, the gore and the amount of talking the shrink laid on Rick was just... Overkill...

Like, the format for the first 2 seasons was always Rick and Morty doing stuff and there was a side story going on with the other characters. I agree that it's focusing way too much on the family divorce thing.

I liked the second episode. I haven't seen the third one though. And they warned us in the first episode that this season would be darker

The 90s action movie one liners that Rick was saying throughout the episodes were the highlights IMO

Pretty sure entire episode is supposed to be a parody of die hard or something
