It's a dumb thing to have a full explanation for. People forget things and spread misinformation and it gets bigger. "Whoa I thought that guy died. Hmmm guess I was wrong"...that's all it is lol.

The Mandela Effect is the collective misrembering of events. The cosmic effect is just some of the more ridiculous explanations people have come up with to explain it.

The problem with that idea, is that for most examples there no evidence the misinformation has been spread to the individuals.
