Bullf***ings***. Why would they go for jobs that are now paying considerably less when they could go somewhere else and make what they should be getting paid. Again, they'll leave. You're saying people are leaving because of property taxes like it's the f***ing plague. WHY would people stay if the taxes are up AND there's no jobs worth a s***.

There's a lot of college graduates and unemployed people who would love a job paying $65,000 per year.

Those companies will just go somewhere else too where people aren't asking them to pay more. Also again you try to pin this on Democrats for the state and that it's their fault. f***ing go look at Ryan. How do you not see that both parties have skullf***ed this state in every way possible.

Yeah, fuck Republicans too, but who did most of the skull fucking over the last 50 years?

There's ways to go about fixing things, but it's not going to be overnight. Yes something needs to be done about the property taxes but again that's because of the counties mainly and not the state. Sure something might need to be done about state pay some but f***ing village managers and s*** again where does the fault lie on that, hint not the state. So your solutions that you always say I will just call them f***ing stupid because there's no thought into it. It's just smashing away and yelling I'M HELPING like it's really going to do something for the long term. You don't understand the deep on any of this and don't seem to really want to but think you get everything.

And I'm not trying to defend all state workers. There's a lot of state jobs that do pay more than what they probably should. But then there's a lot that pay like the same thing for working at Walmart. But that's also not just this state it's everywhere.

The state has BEEN f***ed. There wasn't a budget for 3 years. And at least in my little part of the state we did more hiring in those three years than in any other time that I have ever been a witness to, be it my time actually working for the state or my family. And it wasn't a democrat at the wheel then, well I guess you could argue about Madigan. But you won't because you don't know about all that.

You're attacking me, but yet you're agreeing with me that a lot of state jobs pay more than what they should. I'm not targeting the state jobs that pay like Walmart. I'm targeting the ones that are giving people $200,000 a year and fat pensions.

I think you're reacting this way because of fear, which is understandable

But how do you think people feel when they look at their property tax bill and hear news about more income tax increases?

This is why Illinois will go down as an example of why spending more than you make is a disaster. It causes tough situations like these.

Your solution of cutting everyone's salary, if they make 100k+, in half, is a grossly uneducated one.

It has more implications and results than "lol we'll have $5b more to spend!!!!"

The fact that you didn't respond to my post calling this out was pretty telling.

It's hilarious how leftists are all for cutting CEO pay and upper middle class pay for lesser reasons, yet when it comes to Junior Community Pond Manager pay of over $100,000 per year plus fat pensions, they recoil in horror at the thought of making cuts.

I literally only brought it up because you laugh at "leftists" for bitching about other people making more than they probably should.

No one is actually saying this isn't a problem, but anyone who is against your stupid solution is the enemy to you. You have a huge victim complex.

Most of the money the public spends on football in Texas is voted on by the communities and will also use donor money as well.

Texas isn't on the verge of collapse, and tons of people actually pay to fill up Texas HS stadiums so the salary is warranted.

There's a lot of college graduates and unemployed people who would love a job paying $65,000 per year.

You know what they would want more, jobs that pay more than that. Why don't these people get the jobs now that pay more. Why would they stay to have jobs that don't pay more. You constantly cry about people leaving why would they stay when you are trying to offer them less.

Yeah, fuck Republicans too, but who did most of the skull fucking over the last 50 years?

Honestly it's most likely 50/50 when you get right down to it. When one side is in power, the other side tries to fuck it up. Then it flips. When the dems had it the republicans did it, and now that Rauner is in charge Madigan is doing it, but like I said he's been doing for the dems for a long time now. To blame one for the whole thing is absurd. Because if it was that blatant why would anyone vote them in.

Well because that's politics.

You're attacking me, but yet you're agreeing with me that a lot of state jobs pay more than what they should. I'm not targeting the state jobs that pay like Walmart. I'm targeting the ones that are giving people $200,000 a year and fat pensions.

It's not an attack to say that you are trying to talk about things that you do not really fully understand. It's just what it is. This is your pattern. You bring up these things, get told how you're wrong, then you go hide for a while and wait until you do it again and hope that you don't get told down again and then you do etc etc. The total number from the article says that 63000 make more than 100k. You want to slash them all. Which clearly not all of them are making 200k+ and have fat pensions. Like I said earlier in the topic, I made just slightly under 100 this past year but will probably reach over it due to overtime because I'm working more and I haven't had a raise in years due to the budget and contract problems. Again, see how many state workers have gotten ANY type of raise lately, it won't be many if any. Not even a cost of living percentage increase which those are barely anything to begin with. So if I hit 100 you want to cut my in half down to 50. And that's before taxes. That's what you were arguing first, but NOW you say 200k+ with the pensions. You keep dragging the posts around there's not going to be much of a field left.

Also you keep talking about fat pensions. Like I mentioned earlier did you know that tier 1 is GONE now. Except for like state police. So there has been a massive deal done with pension reform already. The fat pensions you're crying about are now the same pensions as literally everywhere else. Even for jobs that had tier 1 that rightfully still should but hey thems the breaks.

I'm one of the last still under tier 1 for my job that got in before it got canned. So I get the 2.5 instead of 1.67 which for my job if I had 1.67 I wouldn't even do it it's not worth it. But surely you know about that since you're arguing it right.

This isn't fear, trust me. I have no fear because what you're saying will never happen because some people actually get it. I live with knowing that at any point my job can be lost due to the morons just saying "fuck we can't afford this so we're closing it down," which has been happening a lot in my sector. Which is something you would know if you actually cared about the budgetary problems of the state and understood them.

AND AGAIN you bring up about property taxes when I have already said several times why that does not matter with your argument ultimately with the state; take it up with the counties. That's why Cook is WAY more expensive than say Whiteside or Henry. It's why Dupage and Kane are blowing Rock Island out of the water. Cook costs a fuckload to keep running because of what it is, plain and simple. But blame the state workers for that. And I would say this not even being a state worker.

Then let's get a cup of coffee on me and you can bring your computer and show me where you get your information and how you reach these conclusions about who is to blame, who is not to blam, where they money goes, etc. That way you can spread the knowledge. A gesture of good will considering I want to fix the issues rather than evacuate.

More of a chance to go to prison being a governor of this state than for killing someone.

What do you guys think about this? The government officials are the new bourgeoisie. They're the fat cats feeding while people get taxed out of their paid-off property.

They are being overpaid. That money could be put to better use elsewhere. I have never claimed the current state of government everywhere is always efficient or right.
