Just finished watching it, and I don't know how to feel about this show. For a Syfy original, it was better than it had any business being. Like, the acting wasn't totally wooden, the effects were decent, and the plot wasn't totally convoluted or just plain awful. So uh, Syfy managed to do something like that.

As for the Van Helsing story most people are familiar with, you won't find it here. Like, there's not even a Helsing name drop until the end of the season. It honestly felt like the entire first season was the pilot episode. Those guys sat in that hospital for what? 4, 5 episodes? Yikes. You could really see them trying to stretch the budget. Funny thing is, it didn't really suffer for it.
