If I give my CC info for a one time payment, then remove it, do they keep it in the database at all?

Or I could just go get a pre-paid CC and use that.

I don't feel I can really trust Square Enix with my CC info.

I don't understand the whole fear around letting companies hold your credit card info.

The literal worst thing that can happen is someone gets a hold of it and uses it, at which point you phone the company, charges are reversed, and you get a new card. Just check your statement every month and make sure there aren't any questionable charges.

Also, at least for me, Mastercard is freaking on top of the game about charges out of the ordinary. Any time I travel and forget to tell them, my card gets locked (I travel frequently enough that I actually just had them whitelist several different cities across North America). Half the time I make a charge on a new site that I haven't used before, my card gets locked. All I have to do is phone them and say it was indeed me and it's all good.
