I'm more impressed they managed to get it to move through Hyperspace without something going wrong and leading to the imminent collapse of the whole moon.

They seem to have mastered hyperspace, simply by calculating the route and making sure no planets/objects in the direct path. Despite it being so large, considering they had a reactor large enough to destroy a planet...it makes sense that the engine would be big enough as well to move it.

the first 2 death stars were built thoroughly and weren't built around a moon. They used Kyber crystals and massive reactors to power their main weapon.

Starkiller Base was built around a moon/planet but most of it was surface level stuff. It used stars for it's fuel but it also fired multiple planet busters at once.
