Current Events > Iron Fist and Luke Cage worth watching?

I've seen DareDevil and Jessica Jones and I'm definitely watching The Defenders next week. Not sure if Iron Fist and Luke Cage are worth it though.

Iron Fist, I have a hard time recommending, but if you are going to watch Defenders, you will at least need to know the character a bit.

i heard mixed things on iron fist but i haven't gotten around to checking it out yet. luke cage is kinda meh. if you skipped it you won't be missing much. but if you have nothing better to watch you can check it out. some episodes are decent. like mentioned the first half isn't bad just not great. 2nd half is a definite drop in quality.

Iron Fist is garbage. I wanted to enjoy it but it's got so many flaws.

The good parts
- the fights
- Colleen Wing's side story
- the acting by the actress that portrays Joy Meachum
- the actor that portrays the villain Harold Meachum.

The bad parts
- everything else

Luke Cage was good until Cottonmouth died.

Iron Fist is incredibly slow to get going. Even at its peak it's still relatively slow moving and goes on too long.

Jessica Jones is by far the best of all of them, and it isn't even a close margin.

luke cage was just ok. decent show until like midway through the season when something happens that changes things, and then it becomes kind of crappy. i also really disliked the character luke cage, i thought he was a really boring mary sue and the prison episode was one of the cheesiest things ive seen on tv in recent memory

Luke Cage is absolutely worth it.
Iron Fist isn't as bad as people make it out to be, but it's definitely mediocre.

Luke Cage has a great soundtrack from what I've heard so far and I liked the first three episodes I watched so I will try and finish it. I haven't heard anything good about Iron Fist... but I'll probably try and muscle through it before I watch Defenders.

I've never heard anyone praise the fights in Iron Fist. Seriously they aren't convincing in the least. Too many cuts in the action and you can see by the actors pulling their punches, straight up pausing mid-swing to let the other guy react. For a show about a mystical martial artist the least they could have done is cast a decent double. And by the show's end, Ward is the only decent character in so far as he is believable. I still think he should choke.

The fight scenes in Iron Fist are absolute trash and I don't know how even you could have standards low enough to think they're good Hoth. Especially compared to the stellar fight choreography in Daredevil.

Luke Cage is good, but does take quite a dip.

Iron Fist gets WAAAAYYYY too much hate. It's a flawed show no doubt, but it truly is not as bad as people make it out to be. Plus a huge amount of critics were dead against it before it even aired due to the stupid racial "controversy". It's by far the weakest of the MCU, but there is still quite a few things in it that are worth seeing. I'd say if you liked DD Season 2 and Luke Cage enough, at least give Iron Fist an honest try. If you had trouble getting through the other Defenders shows, then it might just be best to skip it.

I'd watch both if you intend on watching Defenders. Iron Fist for me was the worst of the four, but still a 6 out of 10 and wasn't hardly as bad as it's made out to be.

If you were literally the only one person who liked it (obviously you aren't) it still wouldn't get enough hate.
Race doesn't have anything to do with it the lead and pretty much everyone was horribly cast, the dialogue is laugh out loud bad, the fight scenes are garbage. The entire thing was clearly a rushed production. It's melodramatic, cheesy, cliche garbage with legitimately no redeeming qualities. I guess if I had to say something positive it would be that it's (unintentionally) hilarious, and I thought Ward was alright and I somewhat enjoyed Ward's arch but I'm a sucker for bad guys changing sides but he has so much terrible dialogue along with everyone else it's hard to even give him credit.
It reminds me a lot of CW shows at their worst or something like the Star Wars prequels where the material was so bad, it was physically impossible for any actor to actually make that work.

I hope they either majorly reform his character in The Defenders, or simply just kill him off for an "emotional" moment and then if they feel like they want another show they can just take something else from the massive Marvel grab bag.

Obviously it goes without saying this is just my opinion, if you or anyone else likes it that's great, I like for people to enjoy things even if I don't, but in my eyes IF was a complete disaster.
