Not the lid, but the seat.
This was only an issue for me with the toilet at work. Every time I would pee into it, whether into the water or above the water in the bowl, tiny splashes would land on the floor to both sides of the toilet. I just tried peeing with the seat down, and it prevented the splash from leaving the bowl. You should try it too. --- Ulti was right ... Copied to Clipboard!

Just pee in the bathtub. It's easier and it saves a lot of water. I don't know why people pee in toilets anymore, honestly.
