Jill was such a babe back then. She was a good resident evil girl. Sheva was the worst though.

RE3 was a classic. Totally under appreciated by everyone.

The ending song was amazing too.

Remember, in RE2 if you make it the whole way to the police station without killing an enemy, Brad Vickers will be behind it as a zombie. Shoot him to get a key to the cabinet in the hallway save room under the stairs and BOOM. New costumes.

(I think that was it)

I never got the hang of that dodge move. Something about hitting square at the tight time? Then again I only ever played it when it came out and that was... 18 years ago Jesus Christ why do I look at release dates in these topics

3 never felt like a real chapter in the RE universe, imo.

And guess what? Years later we found out that the REAL RE3 was actually Code Veronica. 3 was just something to hold us over until then - or to fulfill the contract Capcom had with Sony.

It's still a good game - don't get me wrong. I'd just rather play RE2 if I want to play in the doomed Raccoon City. Better story, better gameplay, better everything really.

I did really enjoy the gun powder stuff in RE3 - and those choices you could make. And Nemesis of course. The game just always felt like 2.5 to me.

And yet for some reason no one really talks about either game. It's always REmake, 2, or 4.

I honestly hated that dodge move. The one really great innovation we got from RE3, though, was the quick turn around. IIRC I think it originated in RE3.

I do believe it did, or was it in Dino Crisis? No... No, I think Resident Evil 3 introduced it as down + circle but Dino Crisis made it a single button. I think.

RE3 also introduced the Mercenaries mode. Which I sucked at because the dodge move gave the best time bonuses or something.

Yeah, 2 > 3 for sure. But I just happened to run into this video and the graphics of the 90s caught my eye and it was a weird feeling of AHHH! AWWWwwww...

While Code Veronica's story was really great, the game design was flawed. Just...horrible game design with regards to just...everything. The back-tracking in this game was not fun in the least. And the developers were laughing their ass off when they made it so you could box yourself into a corner with the character switching. There was no excuse for that shit. Then you have the empty fire extinguisher fiasco - like, why? There was no reason to fuck over the player like that.
