Indeed. It just doesn't do anything other than potentially anger some of the religious nutcases around here.

I mean, it is pretty hard to argue with. If people think this is the only life they will get, they will be less likely to roll over and allow it to be shitty. I know it is cliche to say, but religion is literally the opiate of the masses. There is a reason the upper classes are less religious--they dont need religion to make them feel better.

Most successful people are pretty religious so this argument does not work. The 'peasants' are the atheist neckbeards like TC.

I honestly can't imagine how anyone could study the history of religion and stay religious tbh. To each his own but the fact is they're pretty much always spread to subjugate people under some sort of united rule

No, but I have an Armani hat in my closet that I bought 5 years ago but have yet to wear once.

TC this is honestly a summary of my overall belief system. If society didn't fear for an eternity of pain and suffering as a result for their actions here on earth, our murder/rape rate would skyrocket. Religion maintains stability and keeps people from committing acts of violence and hate due to the belief of a judgement in the afterlife.

Eeeeh, I think you underestimate humanity's innate sense of altruism. Religion doesnt have a monopoly on morality.

It's comforting to a lot of people to stay entrenched in a group mentality. The funny part is how arrogant they tend to be about it. It's like a crazy person mocking people around him for not sharing his delusions.

Minimal compared to what the world would be like right now compared to a world with religion. The time of the crusades, man had no concept of being civilized as we do today.
