I think it's still below expectations for Capcom.

To be fair that's totally Capcom's fault for expecting a single player horror game to eventually sell 10 million.

It is. I said their expectations in the OP. I tried to be clearer in the topic title by adding disappoint but I guess that wasn't clear enough.

But yeah RE7 is 500k below Capcom's expectations

While Resident Evil 7: biohazard and Monster Hunter XX sold less than expected (four million and two million units were expected, respectively), Capcom said the former gave an “overall solid performance” and the latter is “off to a promising start.”

Not sure what's going on with them. This should be considered a good result.
