I've only played the first Trails in the Sky game. Are they connected?

Is the gameplay traditional turn-based RPG? How's the story? Pls inform me.

I heard it's got special powers, motorcycles, jinco jeans, skulls, darkness, hot gurls with big boobys who are sluts, nine inch nails (both kinds), and earings.

And if you don't like it then psssh...nothin personnel...kid...

As much as Coldsteel the Hedgeheg amuses me I am in no mood for tomfoolery. Please provide serious answers or I'll send the cyber police after you.

I'm playing the first Trails of Cold Steel right now and completely new to this series. My impression so far is the story structure is Persona 3/4/5 lite, you have school with free days and exams, but you only do it once a month, along with a field study in different places each month.

Battle system is turn based and pretty similar to Skies of Arcadia except no random battles, where the characters can move around the field and have area of attack moves. I'm enjoying it so far, but like Persona there are tons of missables so a guide is recommended.

Because I beat Trails a long time ago and I really would have to play through it again to appreciate fully Second Chapter and beyond so I'm just procrastinating. Also, I got a month of PS Now and Cold Steel 1 and 2 are on there so strike while the Iron's hot and all that...

Question:

I have the first game but haven't played it yet.
I know there are cold steel games. Do I have to play all 3 to fully "complete" the game or can I play one and it's done? What I'm trying to say is that is this more Dragonball or Naruto?

Naruto is one long story while in DBZ you can stop at the conclusion of each saga.

You can stop whenever you want, but there's a much larger story being told throughout all of the arcs.

Naruto is one long story while in DBZ you can stop at the conclusion of each saga.

Basically, all the "series" are incluvise and dependent if it have the same title.

So trails of cold steel 1,2,3 are dependent to each other and so are trails in the sky 1 and 3

But to understand trails of cold steel you dont really need the knowledge from trails in the sky and vice versa.

Although playing the different series will make you know context and reference put in the games.

Put it like MCU series.

You can watch iron man 1,2,3 without knowong what thor is and vice versa. But if you watch thor after watching iron man, you will know the reference, context and other cameos from iron man in the thor movie.

It let you see the bigger picture, but not necessarily needed to enjoy the individual movie

If let's say I finish cold steel 1, would you say i have to play 2 and 3 to fully complete the story or are all loose ends and such tied up in the first one? Do I have to play all 3 to finish the story or is each game an arc that I don't need to play the sequels to complete?
