Why wouldn't she stay on her parents insurance. She can use the service while still acknowledging that she doesn't like the program as a whole. It'd be stupid if her to not use it to get advantage.

Because Obamacare is what helped extend it to 26 so she can do that for the next two years. A full repeal would not benefit her at all.

You can benefit from something you don't agree with.

Like if they offered free college, which I am against, I'll tell you right now I would go get a second degree for fun.

But I get your argument. You're saying it's hypocritical to benefit from something you're against, but I don't think hypocrisy is as cut and dry as you do.

nothing wrong with taking full advantage of it. It's funny because she was talking about how shit the ACA is and then said she benefitted from a major provision of it. It's clear she doesn't even know what the ACA did and just regurgitates the talking points she overheard on Beck's network.

Tomi Lahren may be a stupid bitch, but you can participate in society while disagreeing with how it works. There's that comic that mocks this idea of it being hypocritical.

I know it is, but it'd be stupid for her not to take advantage of a positive part of it while still disagreeing with the bill as a whole. I get you're saying it seems hypocritical, but this is a non issue really.

Well an example I can think of are people who are against computers, but still use them.

Because even though they are against their impact on society it would be too much a disadvantage to not use them when they are so integral to our society and success.

For her to pay for Healthcare when others like her aren't paying, would put her at a severe disadvantage financially.

So it makes sense to play into a system you are against if it means you are severely disadvantaged for not participating for as long as the system is in place

I get what you are saying and I personally think she's just being tribalistic, only not liking it because it's the typical conservative opinion and not forming an actual opinion of her own and even getting a full understanding of it.

But hypothetically, let's say she really did think it was wrong, I don't think it makes her a fool to benefit from it for as long as it exists.

Like I said before, I could go on and on why I think free college is a horrible idea and shouldn't exist, but I would be the first person to go for a free degree.

Wouldn't "luckily" imply it's a good thing?

If she can see how it's a good thing and how it benefits her than it kinda undermines her for being against it, doesn't it?

it's because she didn't realize the the ACA extended insurance to 26 year olds. She probably thought it was always like that. She's ignorant of the thing she's arguing against. She called the ACA a "death spiral" in that same debate. She's not a serious political commentator (as evidenced by the fact that she was paired with Chelsea Handler lol) and shouldn't be treated as such.

I guess think of it like this.

I don't think people are entitled to an art degree. I don't think they deserve to get it for free. But if people are going to get art degrees or whatever degrees for free, then I'll get one for free too.

I don't see what's wrong with that, but I'm open to your argument on why that makes me look like a fool

Who's whining? I just think it's funny. She considers herself lucky that she's able to stay on her parents plan. That's a good indication that she thinks this is a good thing and likes the fact that she can benefit from this. Yet she fights constantly for a full repeal, says the legislation is complete trash and demands they repeal something that she benefits from and considers herself lucky for that...

Can't even say "it's not perfect but it has some good things in it like me being able to stay on my parents plan"...no she wants it all gone and can't even see that it would affect her. It's funny.

you can want something to happen that doesn't directly benefit you. Actually, people criticize conservatives very much for only acting in their self-interest. And yet its funny to want something that isn't for your own benefit?

Not to defend her, but she says it in the debate herself that she acknowledges there are good things with the ACA

I think the point here is that Tomi isn't giving credit where credit's due. Yes, you can have criticisms about something. But if it's still benefiting you in a major way, you should at least acknowledge that. I'd imagine TC's saying that she has been slamming and vocally opposed to Obamacare until just recently when she acknowledged that's she's still on her parent's plan.

isn't it kind of counterintuitive to let young people stay on their parents plan when the goal of the individual mandate is to get younger people to purchase insurance?
