That and the Pluto one are probably in the bottom tier.

I would say the Pilot is pretty weak as well. It just doesn't hold up well.

smh @ all the hatred the pilot gets

I don't hate the pilot, but it feels way different than the rest of the episodes.

Pretty much all pilots do. Typically because it's the prototype for the series and usually has far less funding

Yeah I know. Granted R&M is looking like it's doing 10 episodes a season. So likely AS decided to air the pilot along with the rest of S1.

I feel it's a bit unfair to judge pilots like the rest of the series. Though some series really pull it off well (ex: Sunny).

Not top tier, but I didn't think it was bad by any means.

I didn't think it was bad, just weaker compared to other episodes. They've set a pretty high bar for themselves. In my opinion, they haven't had a flat out bad episode yet, which is pretty impressive. But as far as this one goes, there aren't many episodes that I'd put below it.

I'm just worried about this whole divorce thing. I know Harmon had a pretty recent divorce when they were writing this season, just hope it isn't some kind of theme that overpowers this season. Like it's ok if that's the direction of the family dynamic, just don't want every episode to be like "this is how kids and family members react to divorces"

I think this episode touched on the divorce largely, because it's an episode that is immediately after the divorce. The whole point of the episode was to show how each character was dealing with the divorce and eventually getting to the point where they are okay with what just happened so we can continue with the standard R&M adventures.

Next episode is Pickle Rick, so I really doubt we'll see much of the divorce come to play in it.
