It'll just draw it out to 48 hours

I definitely got testy, and I do apologize for that. I just hate to see games go needlessly long. I have played games of Avalon where one of the players sends the perfect set of players pretty early on, and it's like, okay. You accuse that guy of being Merlin, and if he isn't, oh well. Town gets lucky sometimes. Except once, one of the people in the game on the scumteam decided to drag the game on for another 20 minutes for no apparent reason because he thought maybe he could sway someone somehow. That's what it felt like I was in here, except instead of 20 minutes it was a week.

Balance was all me, actually.

The original setup had another vanilla instead of the Jack, but I looked at it, thought Town was slightly weak, and added a jack with three powers that I don't rate highly at one-use (I may be underrating one-use detective in particular, but I'm of the opinion that it's quite weak).

Even as-is though and having seen it in action, I still don't think the setup is worse than 60/40 or so for Town in theory, which brings it closer to 55/45 in practice in my experience. Which is acceptable if not ideal IMO.

Double-investigator jack is pretty strong, I would say. Most cops wind up claiming by d3 anyways, at which point their ability to do things at night is really limited.

Yeah. I agree that it was a bit much in retrospect, which falls on me for probably super underrating one-use Detective and Track.

I'd never have given that jack cop or watch though, because those are super valuable even at 1.

While this is true (Though it's not really the point I'm arguing - I'm not a fan of the way Gravy and SBell played the endgame for this exact reason), we'd still be in Day 8 unless the forced extra time changed something (e.g you could convince gravy to lynch)

I'm just saying that removing the NL-wins-ties rule (And by extension, the NL requires 50% instead of 50%+1 rule) would require a fundamental restructuring of tiebreaker rules

My thing with it is that you only get three roles. You can't use it to build a bigger picture of the setup, which (IMO) is the value in that role. At one use, I think Detective is infinitely more likely to confirm a player town than catch scum, because in your scenario the jack has no reason to doubt the existence of Town Vig based off his scan

It bothers me a little that there's so much burnout after games. The postgame hostility seems somewhat inevitable. I'm not immune either. Not sure how this can be improved as it makes games hard to put together.
