I'm a film major in college.

I work at the front desk of a residence hall.

I used to be 240 lbs about 5-6 years ago, and am now at just under 160 lbs.

Yes, but not since I was like, 8 or so.

Not a petting zoo, but there was this time when I was a kid where we went to a "Drive-Thru Safari", and they had like, emus, zebras, warthogs, and I think some other animals just wandering around and you could just drive through the set path, and they gave you little buckets of like corn or grain or something to feed them.

Well, my mom's car didn't have automatic windows, just manual, and we had them down pretty far to throw out the food. Well, one of the zebras gets ambitious and comes towards the car, and sticks his head through the window to try and get at the food bucket in my lap. This horrified little 7 year old me, and it took us a long ass time to finally get the zebra to take his head out of the window long enough for me to roll it back up.

I am trying to lose weight. What do you do when you get hungry ? Also when did you start buying dude outfits. I have lost 40 pounds and I am trying to keep my stuff as long as I can.

I drink a LOT of water. Doesn't make the hunger go away completely, but it can help during the long stretches between meals. Also ,counting calories helps. It doesn't have to be exact, but have at least a vague idea of how much you're putting into your body. I try to plan ahead, and if I know I'm going to be eating out or getting fast food (which also means larger portion sizes), I try to have that be my only full meal of the day, and just have an apple or something either for breakfast and/or closer to bed time.

You don't wanna starve yourself though, but like I said, just keep a general idea of about how much you're consuming.

I pretty much just slowly buy a couple new clothes every few weeks and start cycling out the stuff that's way too big now. I honestly need to go on a bit of a clothes shopping spree soon, I have a lot of clothes, especially my pants and shorts, that are just way too big now. I only have one pair of gym shorts now that fit properly, and a couple of others that barely stay up while I'm running.

That's a common misconception, and is actually a really bad idea if you don't have the money to back up living in LA starting out, especially with how over-saturated the market is there with the huge levels of competition.

Atlanta has quickly become the third largest film industry in the US, with several big motion pictures including several of the Marvel movies being shot partially or sometimes even completely in Georgia, and they often bring on local crews and people to fill in gaps in the production team.

Austin, Texas has made a name for itself with independent film studios, where a lot of big name filmmakers get their start.

And hell, even Alabama's starting to try to get in on the business. Get Out was predominately filmed there, and Birmingham just recently made plans to spend more money on developing the film industry in the local area.

Not to mention the fact that most TV production companies don't film and often aren't even based in California, and TV can be a solid stepping stone into motion pictures.

I honestly don't do a lot of documentaries, I'm much more into narrative filmmaking, only made one doc style short film for a project.

Is this your first filmmaking class or have you taken some before? Cause there's always general tips I could give you about lighting and framing up your shot. If you end up actually making a doc, make sure you communicate well with your subject you're interviewing (assuming you make that style of doc), and don't be afraid to ask them to redo a shot a few times,as long as you're nice about it they'll normally be fine with helping out.
