He doesn't have to go straight into college if he doesn't want to. He needs to get his life stabilized first. Don't rush into the next big thing if you aren't prepared to face it.

Post 66, which I suggest people should go and actually read this thread because too many people are giving the advice of "you'll have a bad job" which is already accounted for in TCs plan and motivations for it. The conversation has moved on, keep up.

I only said teachers since they always seem to be telling me that I'm such a smart kid and that I could go far in life.

It all comes down to having a plan.

If you want to withdraw from school, all the power to you, but don't do it and just think everything will fall into place afterwards.

Continuing your education later should be a consideration (even if it's not college, just trade school, but learn a skill that you can make a living on regardless). It opens up a lot of opportunities to jobs that won't look at you without the certification of graduating from something.

What do you mean, what do I mean? It sounds like you're in need of social supports in the immediate future. There are a variety of resources you could look into if you do decide to become homeless, or decide to drop out and pursue skills training in some vocational field.

Are you actively talking to your therapist about these decisions you're making? Obviously they can't tell you what to do, but have they helped you to reflect on these choices and why you're pursuing them?

That's because you can. Trust me, I've seen people who are dumber than bricks become successful. You seem to know what it takes to NOT go far in life, so just do the opposite. You're very young, and despite what you think now, your outlook will change when you get older.
