I see it as, in terms of overall Batman mythology, BB and TDK are perfect on their own, no continuation necessary. I appreciate TDKR as a conclusion to Nolan's specific story, especially having to continue without Joker. It wraps back around nicely and in a hugely entertaining way. EDIT: If TDKR didn't exist, I would be perfectly happy with the story the first two movies tell.

I didn't understand the majority of Bane's dialogue until I got it on home release and could turn on the subtitles. The big reason I could take both the stadium and the Blackgate scene seriously is that there's no way the crowds in either understood what the fuck he was saying.
