That's the name of my D&D campaign I started earlier today at work. Someone said they wanted to hear how it went, so here we go, also I wanted to do something extra so the campaign will have a feature which you all can influence if you like, as DM I would welcome some randomness. I haven't gotten very far yet, so I'll post this to start off.

Back story: The campaign takes place on the island Kingdom of Desdia, which is roughly the size of California (I'll redraw my map and post it sooner or later). In the center of the country lies The Capital City, which is ruled by the One King, a mysterious entity who has reigned over the land for the last 1,000 years (give or take). For much of that time the land has been at peace and technological advances uncommon in typical D&D settings have been discovered like air ships and firearms, although being a feudal society has kept many things the same such as you would expect.

About five years before the start of the campaign (so year 897 New Era) a mysterious girl appeared from within the castle of the King and was dubbed the Crown Princess by His Grace. She quickly won the hearts of the common folk with her kindness, the aristocracy with her grace and intelligence, and the Powers (basically Dukes/Counts) with her demonstrations of the miraculous abilities only the King should have been able to use. If the people worshipped the King as their God, the Princess was their Messiah.

All signs were pointing towards an even brighter future for the land when one day the Crown Princess simply vanished. The King was heartbroken and retreated into his massive castle, ignoring all attempts to reach him, some even speculating that he had finally died. Whatever the case, he has not been heard from in all the years since. The Queen (the 63rd) tried to take over affairs in his place but met stiff resistance and dissident. Some of the noble houses sided with her in defense of the Throne, while others see this as their chance to finally gain more power, while the Powers, somewhat autonomous before, seek to further their own agendas and the commoners are restless.

Perhaps most frightening of all is a strange phenomena of which whispers can be heard in taverns now, but will soon enough will be shouted by city guards running in fear, the Blight. A dark substance which corrupts anything and everything, birthing monsters the likes of which have never been seen before.

Each day seems to draw the Kingdom closer to ruin, and perhaps the only person who can stop this is rotting away in a dark dungeon, awaiting her execution... Her name is Shea Mono.

Yup, this is exactly how I imagined this sort of thing would go.

Alright, so things went as expected this first run, which isn't odd considering how few rolls there were.

Shea found herself in her cell on the day of her execution for the crime of high treason. She unsuccessfully attempted to find someway to save herself before her guards brought her to the center of the City Square. At this point some more background was given. Shea was a guard/medic (level 3 Paladin) in the special military division tasked with personally protecting the Princess and was the last one with her before she vanished. She was captured and jailed for about nine months in which time a rigged trial was held and her fate sealed.

Right before the sword of the executioner came down on her neck however, a loud howl was heard and then panic spread through the large crowd. One of the Guard Hounds, large (say the size of a small car) mechanical canine like creatures built to protect the City appeared and started attacking buildings and causing chaos.

At this point I used it in a battle against three Guards and won pretty easily. Next was a bit more of a test in that I fought a Rook (basically a heavily armored fighter with a lance that doubles as a harpoon/net gun) which also took a long time since it's one of my unique enemies and I had to change some stats around.

After winning that battle at about 60% HP the G.H. then proceeded to eat Shea alive and run off.
