Groening addressed the questions at Comic-Con and didn't specify when the conversation took place but the gag however was referenced in an episode in 2010 with that tagline. Matt made the statement after an audience member asked if Fox ever interfered with the creative process and he said "We started doing Fox News jokes, and they asked us to take it easy on them" The joke infuriated former Fox News Host, Bill O'Reilly and Groening said "Bill O'Reilly called us pinheads, and look what happened" He also said several celebrity guests in the past denied being on the show, particularly the new president, Donald Trump as the show was famous for predicting a Trump victory Matt Selman, the executive producer joked that the show doesn't only predict "terrible events" The show often parodies Trump and lead to the audience chanting "LOCK HIM UP" in reference to Trump supporters yelling "LOCK HER UP" on Hillary Clinton The show is set to return for the 29th and 30th season in 2 years breaking the record for most episodes of any scripted show among both animated and live action series Do you think what the Simpsons said about Fox News is true? let's see what people think The Joke against Fox News - http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2017/07/24/21/42A71B6D00000578-4726200-image-a-1_1500929535130.jpg Matt Groening - Simpsons creator http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2017/07/24/21/42A6C14800000578-4726200-image-a-3_1500926989971.jpg Bill O'Reilly - Beggar http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2017/07/24/21/42A6C14300000578-4726200-image-m-8_1500927087837.jpg Trump - Crybaby http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2017/07/24/21/42A64E4300000578-4726200-image-a-10_1500927181613.jpg --- Every time a Gamefaqs User PROVES they Stepped on a Bug, i will STOP Posting for 24 Hours...Beware, this is NOT a good thing to do!! ... I forgot what it is but don't they have some sort of legal loophole that allows them to make fun of FOX as much as they want despite it being on they're channel? I could've sworn I read something about that.
