I suspect kidney failure, and a possible dead cat by tonorrow morning. Isn't my cat, but my roommate's. What the fuck do I do to keep kitty comfortable? No vets are open on Sundays around here, so an appointment couldn't be made.

She is a 19 year old cat, so you kind of have to see this day coming eventually.

She might just be sick man. My cat had similar symptoms (except she wasn't drinking water either) for like a week but then she got better and lived for 5 more years

It's a stretch, but if you have any wheat grass, or grass on your property, animals typically eat that when they have an upset stomach. You can put some in or next to the water source and it may help settle down the symptoms.

It sounds like it ingested something poisonous. It could be some sort of plant or bug. One time my cat ate a butterfly and sat drooling like that for like two days and then got better.

That being said, you should probably take it to the vet.

If there's a vet anywhere, take it to one. A few questions, as someone who is homebound and has lived with cats all my life:

-Is her puking excessive? Does it occur after he tries to eat?
-Is the puking bile, or recently eaten food?
-What's the cat's breathing rate? Pay attention to breaths for about a minute. Breathing rate should be 20-30.
- Is the cat shaking, trembling, stumbling when she walks, etc?
-Does she walk far distances on her normal routine or does she sit down during longer walks?
-Does she make it to the catbox?
-What does the catbox look like?
-Is she bony/skinny or has she suffered from weight loss?
-Are her purring habits normal?
-Does she try and hide?

We had a 17 year old cat that died of a number of illnesses that built up, including kidney/liver failure, and he:

-Would often stop on his way to the catbox.
-Wouldn't finish, would need to be wiped.
-Would even sit in the catbox during the last few days.
-Drank excessively.
-Was very skinny.
-Breathed very quickly, had a fast heart rate.
-Stopped purring altogether.

if kitty lives through the night, whomever is responsible for the cat needs to bring it to the vet and decide from the news. sometimes putting a pet down if it's really sick may be the best option to not put it in more pain if it isn't treatable.

by all means if the cat is healthy don't put it down. learned how to make this decision when my cat was dieing from a abdominal tumor.
no cure by any means.

1) puking was new, and she had something to eat prior. Roomie shouldn't have fed a whole fucking can of food to her, goddamnit
2) She has avoided her cat bed, and gets up/lays down in fits and bursts
3) She seems to make it to the litter box okay enough, and appears to be a healthy 12-15lbs (she's a big kitty)
4) Not sure about purring habits, but it does seem like she's scoping out a hidey-hole of some sort.

In my experience, when cats are sick they will find a hiding spot. If you can, make that spot comfortable for her and make sure there is lots of water nearby.

This. I can't say what's wrong with your cat since I'm not a Vet and don't have personal experience with it, but unless the cat is poisoned or unless this is very aggressive/blindsiding, I'd recommend giving it food/water wherever she chooses to hide and come around to check on her every now and then. If she's not deathly ill she should make it until you can take her too a vet.

If it's an issue of puking I'd hazard a guess and say she'll probably make it since those kinds of illnesses kill pretty slowly. I've had 5 cats in my lifetime and the three that died all tended to throw up a long time before dying and suffering from progressive weight loss. Now, I've never had a cat that was 19, so I can't say for sure, she could just be dying really fast, but it doesn't sound like it to me unless she ingested something deadly.

If she can make it until you can go to a Vet they'll know what's up for sure.

As someone mentioned already. If it's time is drawing near a cat will usually find a hiding spot. Somewhere dark or in a corner.

Worth pointing out that an ill cat in general will seek isolation. not just deathly ill cats.

She seems a lot better. Way less drool, happy to make a 3ft jump onto the bed, and only two small puke spots all night. Still, vet time.

Vet appointment was made for tomorrow. She seems in much better spirits today, and is drooling a lot less. Roomie gave her another full can of wet food. Will cross fingers it doesn't come back up.
