...why does she barely resemble how she is portrayed in the Teen Titans cartoons? She barley even resembles the way she was in the Damian Wayne animated batman movies.

The comic book SF has always looked like that. Big, muscular, orange, huge boobs, assertive personality. The "friend ___" cutesy disassociation from our society and the thin, sleek teen look is legitimately teen titans. She's like 13-15 in the show.

Because the cartoon improved upon the character by taking some liberties with her.

She's the cliche space amazon girlfriend in the comics.
The cartoon was just more subtle about it to get past censors, not trigger helicopter moms and keep it kid friendly (by American standards).
She wasn't the only animated cast to be watered down in the cartoon.

One of the big improvements the cartoon made was simply giving her pupils. Those weird soulless eyes look out of place on her in the comics.

While I don't condone censorship, sometimes being forced to be creative makes writers actually create scenes and characters much better than obtuse non subtle comics. For example, showing a guy being killed off screen through shadows and silhouette instead of seeing the actual thing gives a perfect noir scene. Or having characters express intimacy through touching that is not merely genital based. Or creating a double entendre joke that flies past the censors and only adults get, that's made even more humorous because blink and you miss it, just an offhanded remark.

Mostly, while I'm not into anything non DCAU, I will say that a star fire that actually has pupils is much preferable to the space bimbo look which ironically is super dated.
