It's something that I've been doing lately mainly just to get free drinks at the bar, but it's kind of fun to lead these guys on when I have no intentions of sleeping with them. Am I wrong for doing this? I don't really think so just because I think some of these guys just like the attention and I like the free drinks, lol.

Of course. You taking their free intoxicants but not actually getting intoxicated enough for them to have their way with you is morally and socially unacceptable.

Unless it's understood to be in jest and entirely playful, who cares? It's uncool to intentionally lead anyone on regardless of orientations.

Just because someone buys you drinks, you're not obligated to sleep with them so I see no problems. Plus using apps like Grindr to meet some local guys as friends is pretty easy and useful. I get free stuff and they get someone to talk to.

Depends on the context. Teasing for delayed gratification purposes can be pretty great. Teasing just to bother people is pretty lame, though.

There is so much wrong with this.

Novice user. It's probably ok to not take this seriously.

I mean, I've had gay guys flirt and tease with me when they know I'm straight.

Most people like attention. Ain't nothing wrong with that, as long as you back down when asked.

Depends. As a joke no. For your own personal gain? Yeah. I've flirted with heterosexual and homosexual guys as a joke when I'm heterosexual but I don't do that to get something out of it.

While this is true you would assume that they are actually interested in the idea.

It's not done to bother people. I guess the best way to put it for lack of better terms is to lead them on. Grant it I will never take the encounter past a certain point, but I know the guys like it and it's financially beneficial for me.

This is really how I feel. Guys would hit on me in the past knowing I'm straight and I would turn them down. I think by accepting some of their advances and being nice without getting physical is an acceptable way to go about it and no hurt feelings.

Lol, not at all guys. They're buying my time and attention. Nothing else is owed to them. Like today, had this dude buy me brunch and mimosas. Got a free meal and all I had to do was just sit there and bullshit with the guy.

Did you tell him immediately upon meeting up that you're straight, only using him to buy you food/drink and will only provide conversation?

FYI, nothing TC is posting is real

Lmfao, bro this is real

My sexuality doesn't matter and you don't have to be a certain way to use those apps. I feel bad for girls or guys you date bro. Obviously you have this mentality that people owe you something for buying them a drink or meal.

I'll admit I've done it before but now I think it's kinda gay to do. It's just as easy to get straight people to buy me drinks because I'm interesting to talk to anyway.

It's certainly unusual behavior for a straight guy, just sayin.
But it's not cool. It's no better than when a chick does it and has no intention of letting you smash.

"Owing" is the wrong term.

You're right; you don't owe anyone anything. However, it's just manners and common courtesy at work here.

It's basically just the saying "One good turn deserves another".

People use those apps (primarily) to meet others who share the same interests, sexual orientation or to just find friends or someone with whom they might sincerely connect with.

You use that as a loophole to get what you want; (and apparently, it's not much. A meal and drinks......) and then leave them in the middle of nowhere. So to answer your original question, although it's not illegal to fool someone (not talking of blatant fraud or mispresentation), it just isn't right. It's not the right thing to do. And that basically says a lot about your character. That's all.

I have this dude just yesterday tell me he wants to take me on a cruise to the Bahamas. Guy straight up knows I won't have sex with him, but still wants to take me on a cruise. How am I suppose to turn that down? Shits a once in a lifetime experience. Nothing wrong with taking advantage of an opportunity.
