- The band teacher for some reason announced to the class that this girl who hadn't been in class for a few months had been gone because she was pregnant, and that she had just gotten an abortion so she was coming back to class so everyone needed to be nice to her. The teacher was female and said it in a super judgy way though so I think she was actually trying to shame her for the abortion.

2 girls got into a fight over dumb shit and students pulled chairs from nearby classrooms to sit and watch.

I was in middle school at the time, but the high school I would later attend had an electrical fire. The high school students had to go to the middle school for classes during the repairs. My 6th grade year was half days because of it.

The seniors for the senior prank spray painted "SENOIRS" on the wall of the building. Cops showed up and caught one girl in the process of escaping. They said she wouldn't face charges if she just payed for the cost of having it removed. She asked the other students involves to chip in and then all said no, so she ratted on everyone that didn't get caught. They all couldn't attend graduation ceremony.

And we had a shit ton of bomb threats.

He taught my older sister and she loves him and he taught me and I thought he was cool too. A few years after I graduated he was arrested for having a sexual relationship with a male students and sending him sexts. I was totally shocked because I never would've expected it from him and it also made me wonder if he's done that type of thing with any of my friends. I have no way of knowing

Someone dropped a dook in the sink in one of the boys rooms in highschool. That started the whole needing to sign out to go piss thing.

We had a floor hockey marathon overnight at the school and our team went against the teachers team. The game was a little rough but the next week there was an assembly about how rough people played too rough and there was too much foul language etc. They stopped the marathon for a few years after that. I don't know what they expect of 14-18 year old kids all fueled up on mountain dew and red bull playing a physical sport while locked in overnight at the school would do.

We had an entire website created for the specific purpose of online bullying for our entire county. My school was especially popular on it. It was called peoplesdirt.com. Some kids got fucking dragged on there. There was this one persona on there named "Darnell" who talked so much shit on it that a witch Hunt started in school for the guy. I saw a girl cry in the middle of class because she had an entire thread made obliterating her. It got banned from our school computers since all you would see in computer class was kids browsing it. It made our local paper and pretty sure the guy who created got threatened with legal action. The site was eventually taken down. It was like CE but way more personal.

Oh crap I just remembered!

Someone made a website (back in 2002) called (our school name)sucks.com

It had all the drama and rumors against the teachers, not the students. He went around and hung up fliers advertising it in the school. Things got pretty serious between him and the school board and stuff. Eventually closed down after a month or two.

I work at my old high school sometimes. And my old elementary school too. 20 and 30 years ago for both those. It's weird.

A guy I sat next to in junior year went home and blew his brains out in front of his parents and girlfriend.
Not really at my high school but if anyone remembers out here in CA when Anthony Martinez was abducted and murdered in '97. It made national news. He got taken a block away from my math tutors house I use to go to. And at school they were recruiting the older kids to help in searching the local hills in sweeps.

Nothing at the school though.
The most exciting thing I ever did was jam a paperclip and break it off in the lock of my math class door and saved us all from class one day. I got dropped off early at like 6. I didn't want to be there. It was cold. I was tired. I hated math. I hated everything. So I just did that and went on a walk for an hour and then showed up like I just got there to everyone standing outside and trying to find someone to fix it. No one ever found out.

One student threatened to blow up our school and it was a pretty hot item along the eastern coast of the U.S. about a decade ago.

Freshman year after the final game of the football season which against our rival next town over. We demolished them, something like 49-0. After the game their bus was egged as they were driving back to their town.

The next week 8 of their seniors showed up at our school looking to fight a specific kid they heard was responsible for the egging. They cornered him but then like 20 jrs and srs. from my school tracked them down and beat the ever loving shit out of everyone there. Multiple broken bones, one kid had his jaw broken so he couldn't eat solid food for months, etc. Maybe 5-10 of the kids that were from my school got in legal trouble for it and all the kids that were beaten up got in trouble. I think it was all suspended sentences and probation but that was ~20 years ago.

And this was in a small hick town.

Night of graduation I had 4 classmates die in 2 different drunk driving accidents. I think something like 5 more died that summer.
This was a class of about 120.

A bunch of kids started a rumor about this one gym teacher staring at them in the locker room as a joke. He either got fired or transferred to another school.

Shit like that makes me never want to work with high schoolers. The guy was really nice, but he would have been better off working with elementary kids.

This asshole was picking on someone, so a football player with a soft spot told him to knock it off. The asshole got mad and hit the football player in his soft spot, on accident, and killed him. Not instantly, but he never made it to the hospital in time. Them's was solemn times.

edit: other people died too, but that's the only thing that happened on campus as far as I remember.

- A girl was killed by jumping over a notoriously dangerous hill in our town with her car. If you're going any decent speed you'll jump your car. She was going way too fast and jumped it for fun. I don't know the details, but she didn't survive the crash. She had only just turned 16 and gotten her license.

- The biggest drug addict in our school died of an overdose. Iirc he was 15.

- A kid I knew commuted suicide a few years after he graduated. He walked back to the high school and shot himself there. He was a good guy, wish he hadn't done that.

- Classmate was found shot in the head. It was ruled a suicide, but had mysterious circumstances too.

- My art teacher was shot over summer vacation at her parent's house. She lived and told us the story. Supposedly the neighbor thought she was a groundhog(somehow) and shot her in the back.

Back in 87 some punk teenagers broke in and busted up several classrooms, broke a dozen windows when the Crûe was playing there.

Somebody flushed this kid's PE uniform down the toilet (you have to flush and then feed it in). He was the jr high school principal's son and she made a HUGE deal of it.

They completely stopped up the toilet and there was standing toilet water in the locker room. The coaches were furious and nobody ever confessed. They determined which classes could have done it and which couldn't have (fortunately I dodged this bullet) and the suspects were ALL forced to run all hour every day for months.

Eventually, nobody confessed and they just let it go. The jv basketball team had a game the night before the incident and the visiting team used the locker room in question. It's always a possibility somebody from their team did it. Either way, that kid had a friendless couple of months (he did something like this often).

Another kid in elementary school (when I was in high school) rekt a toilet with a cherry bomb. He totally rekt the bathroom. It didn't flush far enough and it blew up the toilet. I never knew how strong those things were. But this happened around 9/11 so he was expelled.

There were a bunch of kids who got expelled for drugs. The owner had a don't ask don't tell policy about beer/cigarettes/marijuana but these kids were using dangerous prescription pills that could have actually gotten HIM in trouble if they died at school.

One who I used to be three amigos with went to a different school and wound up getting in the back seat of a car, murdered the driver and shot the other passenger a few times as he fled. Then he was bailed out before his trial and somehow got his hands on a mixture of fatal drugs and killed himself with them. The other amigo was one to be expelled for drugs. I'm glad I actually had the sense back then to gravitate towards safe people (after going our separate ways).
