Honestly, the "dumb, hulking brute that steals your lunch money" hasn't been a realistic bully in like 20 years. Most bullying is a social thing, criticizing someone's character, turning other people against them, ect more so than physically intimidating someone. And Flash does that. It's a more relatable modern bully. He's a better fit for the setting as well, considering the school they go to.
I can understand if comic fans that love him as Venom or something are upset, but I really don't give a shit about comics so I don't mind if a minor character is modernized. --- My sister's dog bit a hole in my Super Mario Land cartridge. He works well as bully that is in his social circle. I just wish Laura Harrier was MJ though. She fits MJ more than Zendaya's character. They should have just not called Zendaya MJ and it would have been great.
