I look away from my niece for 10 seconds and she's suddenly watched a version of the show where all of the ponies are people but they have silly hair color.

And some of them are blue, like they're deprived of oxygen.

You say this as if there is a single character on that entire show who actually has anything resembling human skin color (or even what passes for human skin color in most cartoons).

In terms of skin color, the main cast of the show is basically a corpse, a burn victim, someone with jaundice, someone wearing terrible tanning bronzer, and two people choking to death. Pretty much everyone else is either a variation of one of those or something even worse.
