I am. You shouldn't be giving it away for free. Don't spread your legs without a ring ladies.

Bad decision.

If you want to wear white on your wedding day, you can't be having sex willy nilly. :u If you still wear white you're LYING to people.

You can wear whatever you want on your wedding day.

If you've had sex before you're married though, it soils your wedding dress basically. The white color represents the pristine, pure, undisturbed hymen. If you've had sex beforehand you're supposed to wear black.

This is what I don't get. There's nothing wrong with sex. It's one of the greatest free activities we can do as humans. Practice makes it all that much better. Going further, sex is usually a large portion of a relationship between 2 people, so being good at it does matter.

tbh i think the Catholic church makes a bigger deal about sex than the secular world

I just went through all of the Catholic pre-cana shit to get married and it's opened my eyes to how the church is basically a fertility cult

Lol we went through the same before getting married. Like wtf, we're overpopulated enough. I'll stick to my BC, thanks.

But I will say that the people leading the classes were open minded. They pretty much acknowledged that no one waited for sex anymore and that it wasn't a big deal.

they were open minded, but it was still hours of talks about how to have sex, how sex is great and God loves marriage sex, how children are a blessing, birth control is a mortal sin, etc

then we talked to the priest who says the same thing. i also found out that sex is REQUIRED in catholicism. like if you do not consummate the marriage it is not considered valid until you do, and in the eyes of the church, if you are not having sex, that is grounds for annullment. not kidding, you can go to the church and have your marriage dissolved if one of the people in the marriage is withholding sex.

it's bonkers. i cant imagine how fucked up people get if they follow all these rules, because imagine that you have no sexual experience at all and then you are beaten over the head with how important it is as you are just starting to learn about the sexual side of your self

I kind of get that though. Sex is crucial to a marriage. And if someone is purposely withholding sex from their spouse, that's grounds for divorce IMO.

Wedding dresses are white because a queen, don't remember which one, used one as a wedding dress. Pure white clothes were very difficult to keep pure white back in the day, so having pure white dress meant it had likely never been worn before. So its antique conspicuous consumption. Letting people know you are loaded enough to be able to afford a brand new dress for your wedding.

The virginity thing is bullshit that was used to explain it after the fact.

I don't really care at all for the white dress thing, but I do think it's really stupid to want to get married by a church whose rules you don't follow at all and in fact blatantly disrespect.

I mean, why bother at that point? Just have a non-religious ceremony.
