About the online campaign I followed when I was 17. All of the sites, videos, pictures, MySpace pages, the original trailer, everything. They put so much work into it and I followed it so closely and it is going to just disappear eventually. I wish for this.

Also one for 10 cloverfield lane. But to a lesser extent. Because while it was awesome, the original has a much more nostalgia factor for me because of being 17 and all that.

Also just finished the first cloverfield for the first time in years. I still love it so much.

Also I know everybody else didn't love it as much as me. Don't care.

I enjoyed both movies. Way more than I thought I was going to and for completely different reasons for each film.

The second one is clearly the better picture.. better story, way better acting, amazing pacing and fun twists, but the first one is just.. different than most movies.

But really, the first one is nothing without the internet campaign and that's why it should be included in the home release.

The second one is a great film even without the internet campagin, but it also had an amazing backstory and was super fun to follow. The guy finding the puzzle pieces in real life blew my mind

actually seeing the monster after months of replaying the trailer over and over just to catch a glimpse was so great.

The scene where they're about to get away in the helicopter and then the monster comes up and grabs them is so great. Hud is saying "oh Jesus oh god oh god please I'm so sorry I'm sorry please god" as the helicopter is going down and I'm like O_O it was so good.

And lily getting away and then you just never see her again is so like omg what happened for me but I don't think we will ever get to see what happens. I don't think we will ever get a true sequel. I just wonder about the people that created it. Like don't think feel the need to continue this story? So many questions.. they at least have to have some idea of what they would have made happen

It was sad.. but it was a fitting ending. Only one person lives but you don't know what happens. All the lovers die.

I would have loved the different perspective sequel, or a direct one. Anything to give me more information. And I will be completely okay with the anthology route as long as they are all as good as 10 cloverfield lane was, but I will always remember and hope for more info on the first. I wish at the very least the universes were connected, but that ship seems to have sailed.

I read about the third one being god particle or something. The fact that I know that much makes me sad, tbh. We didn't know a single thing about the first or second until the wanted us to.

I mean, they could say that the events of 10 Cloverfield Lane happened just before the events of Cloverfield right? That's how I view them in my head.

10 Cloverfield Lane

Cloverfield event

chick escapes from the bunker

That's my Cloverfield time line and I'm sticking to it!!!

Also, the aliens at the end of 10 Cloverfield Lane is my favorite part about that movie!

A P.O.S BOREFEST that only got popular BECAUSE of its excellent marketing. Like you said you're nostalgic for it. That's what they aimed for, making memories. And the marketing was great, I'll give it that.
But judged on the merits any other movie would be judged on, like: story, characters, delivery, filmography, etc, then it was dreadful. A total B movie at best.

The second movie on the other hand was actually quite clever. And I very much enjoyed it.

Can't be that way based on the timeline layed out from the two movies.. Howard was employee of the month February 2016, the first movie took place in 2008.

you are aware that Cloverfield lane has nothing to do with Cloverfield, right?

all they did was rename that movie

Well they do have things to do with each other. Slusho, Tagruato, satellites falling.

They are not connected as far as what's in the movies though. Not yet, at least.

That's why I said "in my head." While I didn't actually know what time it was in either movie in terms of the date, I felt like they were supposed to be close to each other in a time line.

But in my head, they are!

It makes sense that way.. I wish they had made 10 cloverfield lane have Clovie at the end and not aliens because it was explicitly stated that clovie was buried deep under the ocean and was a baby when he woke up and started destroying everything, not an alien.

They could still connect them if they wanted to, but it would take some major retcons or some brilliant writing to be able to do it

But how did Clovie get buried in the ocean?

I loved the first movie; it's still one of my favorite movies.

But I followed The whole campaign for 10CL abs the payoff of seeing the movie, first screening on opening night was the greatest movie watching experience I've ever had. I felt much more into it than the person I was watching the film with. Explaining things like the puzzle pieces to her after the movie just wasn't the same.
