who knows but I could understand why not

it's like fighting games, where you give up something to get something else. fighting games, you strip it all the way down to nothing but 1v1 combat and then you get to have better than average graphics and animations and more player types than normal.

moba is almost the same, but it's stripped down to (as far as I know, I don't play them much) a single map with very specific rules, and very little that each character has to interact with besides the other characters. all the effort is then put into the characters themselves, which even are limited to a pretty standard template. (the resulting matrix of characters is pretty damn complex though I must say).

so, I don't expect that it's likely to have a game where you have both the complex dungeon design and game mechanics of a diablo game (especially of the same quality of a diablo game), coupled with the impossibly vast character selection of a moba (especially of the same quality...).

Tales of Maj'Eyal. It's a traditional roguelike RPG (topdown tile grid, turn based), an item system similar to Diablo, but better. It has 33 different classes which vary immensely, an additional class where you can customize a character with any skill groups from existing characters, and user mods for even more classes.
