Suck. Understatement of the year.

Just setting there playing a game, and then "Oh shit, here I come to torment you! No reason, just deal with it!".

Heart races, hard to breath, clinching in pain. Not "real" pain, or so they say, just physiological.

Left arm goes numb, breathing intensifies, though it's still difficult to breath.

Million thoughts racing. "I'm about to die."

Logically, I know what's happening. I know, logically, that I'm not actually DYING.

Even so, it's damn convincing.

There was a short period where I had severe anxiety (until i got sick of feeling that way and just forced it out of my life) and I did have one really severe anxierty/panic attack;

A really strong bizarre tingling sensation filled me starting in my fingers, through my arms, into my chest, then my face, could even feel it in my eyes and tongue. Then all my muscles seized up, and my hands gnarled in a way where you make your thumb touch your pinky and then try to bend the other three down at the first knuckle, couldn't get them out of that positon, breathing became hard. I honestly thought i was having a stroke or something equally serious. Had to use one of my knuckles to dial a friend to get someone on the phone to talk to someone to get my mind somewhere else, and then it winded down and subsided. But yeah, really the most terrifying experience and not something i'd wish on anyone.

I'm assuming there's different varieties/severities of physical anxiety/panic attacks, but i would still see a doctor and get a full check up as the specific symtoms you listed are also exclusive to other things as well outside of anxiety attacks

I don't typically advertise. "Hey! I'm on antidepressent And anxiety medication!".

It's not that great of an icebreaker. People sometime assume that you're just weak minded.

Go do CBT therapy if you can. Also they arent so bad if you know its just anxiety and not anything serious.

They are difficult in the moment but you can find ways to manage them. Also try things to reduce your anxiety and stress

First off the best thing to do is get checked out by a doctor, like a full check out blood work and all, that way you can tell yourself "i dont have a heart condition, or bad cholestorol etc im perfectly healthy, my mind is just winding itself up into a negative feedback loop, i'm fine everythings fine"

Also you can google diets that help curb/prevent anxiety, stuff like omega 3 (which comes in capsule form) is not only good for blood pressure but brain health. Keeping busy, and exercise is good, releases good endorphins.

I tried everything except medications, because honestly I found the side effects (suicidal tendencies etc) to be scarier than the panic attacks and I wanted to beat it without pills. Everyone gets anxiety for different reasons, mine was from an ex that pretty much ruined my life and plans for the future at the time, so luckily as time went on eventually i was able to cast it off. Aside from lifestyle changes you also have to confront and cast off whatever mental, psychological or emotional demons that are at the root of whats causing the anxiety, if you are aware of them.

If there are none, you have to train yourself to be good at mind over matter, which is another word for self control. To be able to control what stresses you out, and how much etc. I feel that there's really no easy answer or solution to anxiety, its something you really have to work hard at getting rid of

Yeah, I've had blood work a couple times, even an ekg. There was an abnormality with thyroid, but otherwise healthy. I was prescribed meds for the thyroid, but I didn't like the way it made me feel, so I stopped taking it. I really should go back, I just can't be bothered.

One of the first things I do when I feel a panic attack coming on, is attempt to rationalize it. Sometimes it works, sometimes I just have to set there and suffer and wait it out.

Yeah mind over matter is a huge help. As its said, your perception is your reality. Having serious control over how you perceive things and how you let yourself react to them is a huge help in curbing the severity and the cropping up of anxiety attacks.

Never happened to me, but I did help others go through with it.

Back when I first moved out on my own, the two girls who were living next door with their mother began frantically knocking with their backpacks on asking for my help. I walked in and saw their mother on their sofa kicking and clinching her fist with the most saddest and helpless eyes I've ever seen. I raced over to calm her down while juggling their phone dialing 911.

I don't know what I did, but I got her to calm down while holding her hand and putting my other palm on her forehead waiting for the paramedics to arrive. I couldn't find her medication and her daughter's didn't know what medication meant... long story short. She got better and thanked me for keeping her company and watching her children during the whole ordeal.

I had one before. I take Lexapro and Klonopin and I ran out. Tried to go cold turkey for a few days and the drinking I did the night before didn't help. I felt it coming on at work, explained to management what the deal was, and went home.

I thought I was going to die for real. I was texting all of my loved ones like it'd be the last I talk to them. I just wanted to sleep, but I was afraid I wouldn't wake up. I found some articles online that calmed me a bit and then I just started reading the Bible lol.

I was seeing a new doctor at the time and didn't know I could just call and refill over the phone. I suggest you get some meds to prevent the attacks
