well, lets see, they just got fucking passed up on ratings by nick at nite, adult swim, and nickelodeon.

evidently, reporting exclusively fake news is not a sustainable business model.

It's been working for Fox.

and if you'd take the time to read more than one post and say "I DISAGREE WITH THAT BETTER REPLY" you would see where i said that fox gets away with being a joke because they fucking lean into it. CNN does not. they still try to pretend like theyre taking the high road.

when everything is a joke its harder to get offended. fuck man, i spent 8 long years trolling the right, and it was never as easy as it is trolling the left now.

Sure it's possible. Just, ya know, report the news as it happens without embellishment. It's really not that hard.
You can't report every little thing that happens in the world, and even if you "report the news as it happens without embellishment", what you choose to report and what not to is a form of bias.

wrong. only what you chose NOT to report is the bias. if you report the story as it happened with every detail possible WITHOUT throwing personal speculation into it you are reporting without bias.

Like if it's a black person getting shot, what statistics do you mention? There's a lot of data which is used in a whole bunch of nasty ways.

So are you suggesting for a store robbery you talk about the police officers birth and describe his childhood, while also going through the robber's? Or do you start with that day? Doesn't that sell the robber short of how upbringing can force someone into a life of crime? And for a simple robbery do you really need that much information?

how about you start at the beginning of the actual incident?

person A walked into store B, pulled out weapon C, demanded D goods/money, officer E arrived on the scene. person A pointed said weapon and was shot by officer E.

no speculation. no look into the past. just a point to point description of the event exactly as it occurred.

voila. i just presented you with an unbiased accounting of a robbery. i didnt mention skin color because i am not a racist. i did not bring up the history of the offender or the officer because i am not trying to tell you their life stories, i am trying to tell you THIS story.

does it sell the robber short of blah blah blah? fuck no because im not writing a piece with a political slant, i am reporting on the actual facts. does it make the police look more or less violent than they deserve? fuck no. it makes this officer look as though he responded in the way that he DID respond because again, i am reporting on the actual facts and ONLY the facts.

What I think is irrelevant to the news, which could clearly be completely bias free.
Why are you so clearly and blatantly ignoring the FACTS? There is a FACT here that is a FACT that you willfully chose to ignore.
I don't even know how I could trust such a biased source who won't include all of the FACTS.

You answer mine first, it could be his shirt or a hat that he was wearing, or what he looked at before robbing, or any other detail that wasn't mentioned in that he story, because there's effectively an infinite amount of them.
By ignoring some facts about the situation, there is bias behind it because it's a personal choice to remove those facts from the story.

The entire point is that it's impossible to have a bias free story, that's it.

My point had two parts. You already agreed with the first part. See bolded parts. So don't claim you didn't agree with any of that when what you already typed contradicts that. So I'll focus on the second part.

Do you disagree with the statement that you can't cover everything? If so, I'll focus on deaths for an example. Do you report if the president died? Do you report if a school teacher died? Do you report if a homeless man in Texas died? Do you report each of the ~150k (potential amount from a quick google search) human deaths that happen every day? And then there are non-human deaths. And that's just deaths. You can't cover every single event that happens on the Earth. Are you going to argue otherwise?

theyre called obituaries. we print them and they have lists of the people who died.

are you asking me if, in order to be unbiased, journalism needs to cover every occurrence on earth ever? no. i am saying they need to cover the relevant and concrete facts of the story they are covering in order to paint the picture as accurately as possible and leave it to the readers to draw their own conclusions.

now, can we please go back and answer the question youve been dodging?
