My all time favorite has to be the remote chainsaw glitch in Gears 1.

You would do some glitch magic involving reloading your Lancer, pressing B, and switching weapons at the same time, and whatever weapon you switched to would have chainsaw properties. Except when you went to chainsaw someone, the animation would play but there wouldn't be any sound or gore and they wouldn't die. They'd just stand there flailing around sarcastically then run away extremely confused that you just pretended to chainsaw them with a shotgun. Whenever you pull your Lancer back out, they immediately explode and die, hence "remote chainsaw". You could hold their life in your hands for the entire round and use it to mess with them hard. And if they were familiar with the glitch they'd be on edge knowing it was coming at some point. Also if you died, they would automatically die.

I liked it so much because it was completely harmless in the sense that it didn't affect gameplay negatively at all. You still had to perform a chainsaw kill in the same way a regular one had to be, except you just choose how long you want to spare them after the "kill".

The one that causes Paper Mario to crash if you stand in a certain room for 100 years due to a bugged counter overflow.

There was a glitch i discovered in gran turismo 5 that allowed me to put non-racing tires on the fastest car in the game.
This meant i could pretty much use it in every event offline because they would try to restrict classes by tire-type.
It also made b-spec races (where an ai raced for you) an 100% win chance, so i could just turn my ps3 on, start up a b-spec race, and go do something while my ai won me money.

Also, the pokeball swap in either Pokemon colosseum or XD, forget which. Let's you pick any pokeball when selecting for your first Pokemon action, then switch it out on the second pokemon. The effect was keeping the effects of the first pokeball but decrementing the counter of the second pokeball. Infinite masterballs for the price of a normal pokeball.
