I actually like how they used it to hide the fact that Vulture was Liz's father, that was really clever.

Apart from that, it wasn't pandering but it did make Peter feel like the odd man out in his own home turf.

shows how out of touch they are, lol.

Always forget the USA is larger than the major metropolitan cities, so it never comes off as odd when multiple races are depicted on television. But if I was living in some flyover state I can see how my perception would change. They should make their own film industry to represent their region better, have it stationed in Wyoming rather than California

Idk why that guy is so upset about the Hasidic Jew kid. If anything there should have been quite a few more considering where the movie is set.

No, because I didn't have any hand in making it.

Pretty cool to see, though. Equally disappointing on how CE exploded in violent arguments over the casting of MJ, though, and how people were split on whether it was okay or not "because she was a separate character from Mary Jane".

The consensus has been that they would've just been better off scrapping the reference to MJ as it implied quite a lot from a character that was opposite in a ton of ways

I don't care about the diversity or lack of it in this or any other film. I've heard the argument that diversity helps people feel better about their own lives because it gives them someone to relate to. If that is true, then I'm glad there are movies like Spiderman for them.

I just wished the movie had more action scenes. I get spiderman was depicted as a 15 year old, but still. I wanted more flashy fighting. I was disappointed in that aspect.

It depends upon how it is done. The people in charge stated that they were making the cast diverse, but in the movie it doesn't feel forced. It feels like the diversity is natural and realistic. I live in NYC and it is tremendously diverse here, so it is good to see that reflected in the movie.

In business, yes. More people represented = better chance someone is going to relate to the characters and stories you are selling.
