Wait weren't time lords male and female?
I hope they have a good lore reason on why regenerations can now cause sex change and not just apearance change... also isn't he kind of dating river song? how would she react?

I hope the regresive left understands that oncern by fans is not for bigotry, since fan's didn't mind if the DR regenerated into a black or asian man because it was posible according to the lore...but into a woman it may require a lore change

Nobody has regenerated that much so who knows what's going on.

They should have made her a black woman. Then the tantrums of the Internet would have been even more hilarious.

This might work for me actually.

I realized something about myself recently, I have to skip doctors.

I can not handle the loss of a previous doctor to a new doctor so I instantly hate the new doctor (or just don't like him whatever).

Couldn't make the transition from Ecclesly (sp) to Tennant for instance, even though Tennant is a good dcctor. Same with Baker to the next doctor etc.

But I can go to the doctor AFTER and don't have a problem.

That might change though if the doctor changes into another gender. Also I could always watch them out of order.

Watch the doctor after tennant, then go back and watch tennant etc.

Gonna try that I think.

It could always happen at any time for any Time Lord. This has been canon lore since at least Eleventh's era, and toyed with non-canonically since "Curse of the Fatal Death."

I only hope that Thirteenth just HAPPENS to be a woman, instead of being the first female Doctor being blown up as a super big deal and major focus. Well, I only hope it on this aspect of the next few years of Doctor Who. There's so much else I hope for as well.

Meanwhile, I can taste the salt already from the many, many people who didn't want the Doctor to ever be a woman. I don't need to go fishing for comments to see where this salt mine has cropped up. <_<

The Doctor has commented on past regenerations that he's happy to still have teeth and a tongue, and that regeneration is a really mixed bag that could end up turning you into just about anything. Plus we've already seen that the Master changed to female after regenerating, so we already know that it's possible for regeneration to wildly change the person's body, including their very gender.

Perfectly fits the lore. I have no problem with a female Doctor.

Also this. The Doctor has already broken the normal limit of regenerations, plus he's had a willful regeneration potion too. Dude's going to be seeing some side effects.

It's canon that time lords can be any gender when they regenerate. And it's funny watching people get upset over this.

I am going to be truthful, i havent liked Peter all that much, so I am glad he is getting replaced.

I wanted to like him so much, but we never got to see Twelve without Moffat's handling. Maybe in 2023 or something during a special? Maybe Big Finish can talk Capaldi into doing an adventure with them? The odds, however, are that we were gypped because of the worst showrunner the franchise ever had, and that's counting how close we came to the Cartmel Masterplan coming to fruition during McCoy's era.
