No you pay more if you do car payments or the lease/loan thing, interests no matter how good will add up to you paying more then just buying it in a few payments or outright. --- "Always two there are, a master and an apprentice" ... Copied to Clipboard!

Solid Snake07 posted...okay..........why? There's no reason to rent a car other than to drive a new car that you can't really afford, or if you just need a car for a month or two. Instead of investing money into equity(granted, depreciable equity) you're throwing your money into a hole at the end of every month. Look, do what you want, but you're making a pretty dumb decision financially. --- "People incapable of guilt usually do have a good time" -Detective Rust Cohle ... Copied to Clipboard!

yep. i dont see the point of buying a new car. you pay the same amount per month and it takes years to pay off and once you do the value is like 80% of what it was and then you have to pay out the ass for all the maintenance. cars dont maintain value like land does I like buying my cars outright and doing shit like changing the headlights. Modding leased cars seems like a waste of money. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Its the pride of owning the vehicle not it being something your paying to borrow, ownership matters and if you miss payments your interest rises or they repo your car. --- "Always two there are, a master and an apprentice" ... Copied to Clipboard!

Its the pride of owning the vehicle Some people just don't care. My cousin didn't even know she was driving a Pontiac until she filed her insurance herself the first time. Like she had never heard of the brand and just bought the car because it was cheap, and it's not like all her friends are clueless. Hell one of them rally races. To some people cars are just an A to B, and they literally mean it when they say they would rather have a Toyota than a Mercedes. Same cousin found it embarrassing when her dad spent 60 large on his 50th anniversary Mustang because to her he could have gotten the same thing for half the price and taken the family to Aruba or whatever. And she's not a spoiled teenager by any means, she's a 23 year old accountant. Some people give literally zero fucks. --- "Cuz yung bucks be finnin n fruntin up a reap G know what it is"-Naysaspace ... Copied to Clipboard!

Buying a car outright is usually the best move if you can afford it AND you intend to keep the car for a while (10+ years). However, with rapid advancement in self-driving cars I'd be cautious about buying a new car.

@Solid_Snake07 I don't really take pride in owning my car, it's just the smartest thing to do. It's an asset that I can liquidate and get most of the money I've put into it back if I need to. --- "People incapable of guilt usually do have a good time" -Detective Rust Cohle ... Copied to Clipboard!

there's no value in it. Yeah.........that's not true. There's always more value in owning something than renting it. Sorta related, I kinda want to buy a 2017 Kia Optima. At 6' 5" I need something that can accommodate.
It wasn't until very recently that I learned Hyundai/Kia have stepped their games up over the past couple years, and actually make decent cars, according to multiple car review websites. Plus, kinda hard to ignore a 10 year powertrain warranty. --- http://i.imgtc.com/tUK3LwiHnb.jpg 4/15/1951 - 3/18/2014 "But not forgotten." ... Copied to Clipboard!
