Because there's always a good chance that it'll change back in the future.



I hate it when a female character that I like is given short hair or when an animal character is given a flatter face to look more human. But, as often as not, the designs eventually work their way back around to being the more traditional look. I do hate how short hair has become Catwoman's signature though. That'll likely never change outside of live action movies.
