But for it to end on such a cliffhanger really sucks...like did he die or was that scene post credits supposed to show that he was somehow alive(he was closing the eye that was gouged)? Also, now that he's cucked Guts, is Griffith gonna discard Casca like the rest? She did have the sacrifice brand and whatnot...

Berserk '97 is one of my favorite anime, but the manga covers so much more.

the anime only covers one arc.

...there's also a movie trilogy that focuses on the same content, which I really enjoy.

IMO the Eclipse sequence at the end is some of the most twisted, dark/demonic shit I've ever encountered in anything I've ever watched or read.

Really great show all around. Never did continue with the manga but I've been thinking about it for years.

if you've ever played the Dark Souls games, there are a bunch of references to Berserk, since a lot of imagery was inspired by it.

with just the Eclipse, alone, you have:

Dark Souls the arena where you fight Sif, there are all of those discarded swords, like the graveyard of the Band of the Hawk

Dark Souls 3 the Abyss Watchers boss fight and the eclipsed sun
