I remember a mythbusters episode on this. It was possible for a plugged in device to fall into a tub of water and kill but it needed to be a device that drew a lot of power from the outlet IIRC.

An unplugged cell phone? Those usually run on like 3.3-5V, IIRC.

Plugged in could probably do the trick, though it would be because of the power coming out of the wall.

It had to have been plugged in, there's no other way she gets electrocuted.
