Just came to post this

Quentin Tarantino is reportedly set to direct a film about the infamous murders committed by Charles Manson’s “family.” THR reports that Tarantino is planned to write and direct the as-yet-untitled project, which is in the early days of being shopped out to studios and distributors. Harvey and Bob Weinstein are reportedly on board.

The script for the film is in the final days of being written, and the site says that Brad Pitt and Jennifer Lawrence are being approached for roles. Deadline reports that Tarantino has met with Margot Robbie about possibly playing the role of Sharon Tate, which at least one part of the script is said to be centered around. Samuel L. Jackson is also said to be likely playing a lead role.

The murders took place in August of 1969. Manson’s cult of followers, popularly referred to as “the Manson family” after the fact, were ordered by the cult leader to attack and murder the people at record producer Terry Melcher’s former home. Melcher had rejected Manson’s work. The home belonged to Tate’s husband, Roman Polanski. Tate and four others — Jay Sebring, Abigail Folger, Wojciech Frykowski and Stephen Parent — were killed there. The next night, Manson and his followers went to the home of supermarket executive Leno LaBianca and his wife Rosemary and killed them. Manson is currently serving a life sentence in prison, along with those of several of his followers.

I can't say I'm entirely comfortable with this

I don't see what the issue is. If it looks good, go and see it. If it looks back, then don't. I'm excited for the idea of it, so I'm happy with the news.

Eh. I've never been a fan of the manson crimes when they are depicted in fiction. I donno why it's just uninteresting to me despite the fantastical nature of a crazy guy convincing girls to commit atrocities

He said that 10 movies is probably his max. So he's got 2 movies left before he retires from film making.

Really? While I didn't think Hateful 8 was amazing, the two before that, Django Unchained and Inglourious Bastards were both great movies.

Out of the last few movies, the only one I haven't seen is Death Proof and the only one that didn't do it for me was Hateful 8. So how has he been done?

Death Proof was like a 4/10 for me. I've seen them all. He seems to be entirely hit or miss, they are either really great or really bad. His "style" though is worn out imo. Kind of like Shamalan and his big twist endings. I don't disagree with you, Django was phenomenal, and Inglorious Bastards was pretty good. I just feel like he's exhausted his creativity at this point and it's all entirely predictable.

It's fine if you don't like some of his movies, that wasn't why I said what I said. It's just that in my, and it seems most people's opinions, he's had at the worst two below-average movies, while most of the rest are seen as at least good movies.

So your comment just didn't make sense. But if you happen to not like some of those movies, that's fine, but you only called out one of the movies that could have seen to be bad, and used that against the rest of his movies which a lot of people see as great.

But then you said has been, and the last three movies you just said two of them were good. And before that was Kill Bill. So 1 in 5 bad movies is has been to you? Crazy. Oh, I forgot Death Proof, which I haven't seen. So I don't know how that is. I don't think I've seen it. . .hmm
